In the beginning, I was navigating my way through life, by first attending WITCC for Auto Collision & Refinishing out of high school in 2010 and working at Anthony P&L and soon Peterbilt in the meantime. I then ended up at Total Motors in 2013. In 2014, after tearing my ACL, I left Total Motors to attend USD to pursue the dream of becoming a collegiate strength coach. While at USD I worked closely with the strength department as a paid student assistant/intern. Prior to graduation, in 2017 I ended up working with the Nebraska football team. Following my internship at Nebraska and graduation, I went to Indiana State as a Graduate Assistant Sports Performance Coach. In the summer of 2019 I graduated and struggled to find positions. I finally ended up at Austin Peay State University, which was a short, but memorable journey. In October of 2019 I started at Ohio University, which led me back to Iowa in March on an “extended” vacation due to COVID-19 working for Anthony P&L again. In May I decided to venture off on my own to polish, expecting minimal business. It took off much faster than expected, and at the end of June I was faced with a tough decision – stay and build “Smith’s Shine” and drop the dream I had been chasing for the last 6 years or return to my position at Ohio. Smith’s Shine won the battle, I AM HERE TO STAY!!!!!  - A huge thank you goes out to those coaches and people I encountered prior to my new endeavor, and all the people who are currently supporting my business.
